Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie shared the first photos of three-week-old Knox and Vivienne at their home in France and revealed how they and their four older children, Maddox, 7, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and two-year-old Shiloh, are finding life since the twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline arrival.
“It is chaos,” laughs the Hollywood actress on life at the sprawling Chateau Miraval in Provence, “but we are managing it and having a wonderful time.”
“We made a decision to have a big family and support each other to make it work.”
How are the rest of the siblings handling the latest additions to the family?
“Shiloh calls them her babies. She and Z pick out their clothes and help change and hold them,” Jolie tells People.
“It’s sweet–they are little mommies,” Pitt adds, “This is Mad’s fourth/fifth time becoming an older bro. He’s asking us when we can have more.”
How Mommy and Daddy reacted when they found out they were having twins:
“We were in shock and could not stop laughing.” She also sets the record straight on tabloid reports that the twins were conceived via IVF. “If they had been conceived through IVF, we would have been happy to discuss it,” says Jolie. “But we have been fortunate never to have had fertility problems.”
Brangelina on the birth:
- When he first saw Knox, and Vivienne a minute later, Pitt felt “An awe words fail to describe.”
“I knew they would be premature, so when I saw they were big and screaming with healthy lungs, I was at peace,” Jolie says.
More details on the babies:
“Viv is proving to resemble Ange in spirit, attitude and physicality,” says Pitt. “And Knox, a bit of me.” Pitt also shares how they decided on the twins’ names: “The name Vivienne came to us early, as if she named herself–she has always been Viv. And Marcheline is to honor Angie’s mother. Knox came soon after. It is a family name, my grandfather’s. Léon is a classic French name.” Jolie explains how her late mother, Marcheline, inspires her as a mom. “My mom loved being a mom and made sure her children knew every day how much joy we brought to her. I hope to give that to my kids.”
