Heath Ledger Dead At 28

Heath Ledger has been found dead by his housekeeper at his fourth floor apartment in downtown Manhattan. It is not known if Ledger overdosed accidentally or committed suicide. However, police confirmed that prescription pills were found by his body. Heath Ledger had been due to have a daily massage at his apartment in the SoHo area when he was found.

When the masseuse arrived, his housekeeper answered the door. When there was no answer from Ledger’s bedroom they entered and found him unconscious, apparently surrounded by pills.

They shook him and when he did not respond called the emergency services. When they arrived Ledger was in full cardiac arrest and did not respond to treatment.

NYPD deputy commissioner Paul Browne said that Ledger was pronounced dead at the scene at 3.26pm, and added that the death was “possibly drug related”.
